MOSAC Nights
Save the Bees
Thursday, March 16
6 pm – 9 pm
The worldwide collapse of bee populations is a big deal, and it’s particularly serious here in California. We rely on bees to pollinate a huge percentage of our food crops, worth nearly $12 billion a year, so they’re a big contributor to the state’s economy. But our native bees face many threats, including pesticides, diseases, and even invasive bees. (Remember the murder hornets?)
We think bees deserve some protection, as well as a celebration for all they do! So our upcoming MOSAC Nights is all about bees — what they provide for us, and how we can help them survive and thrive.
- Hear from wildlife experts, farmers, and government officials about what California is doing to better protect our bees
- Sample some delicious bee-made products in our tastings of locally-made honey and sparkling mead
- Learn about citizen-scientist efforts to track and protect bees happening around the state
- Find out how you can help bees thrive in your own backyard
- Sip a “Bee’s Knees” cocktail to go with the assortment of appetizers we’ll be serving
One “Bee’s Knees” cocktail and an assortment of appetizers served buffet-style are included in the ticket price.
Beer, wine, cider, and sparkling water will be available for purchase.
