“As the movie theater is to TV and mobile screens, the dome theater is to a VR headset,” says Ed Lantz, founder of Vortex Immersion Media and creator of Mesmerica360, the full-dome show currently playing at MOSAC on Friday and Saturday evenings.
We’re thrilled that Lantz is traveling from Los Angeles to join us at the museum for this Special Event on Monday, February 27 at 6 pm.
He’s a former aerospace engineer who decided to transform old-style planetariums into 360-degree interactive experiences, and he has set up dome shows for big crowds at the Super Bowl, NBA All-Stars Weekend, and Comic-Con.
Lantz will do a “show and tell” about how he uses his STEAM skills to create immersive worlds on the dome screen, and how those skills will change how we view arts and entertainment in the future.
Suitable for ages 14 and up!
