Enhance your field trip with a 30–minute lab activity! These guided sessions give students a hands-on introduction to the engineering design process, encouraging creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration. Your visit includes full-day exhibit halls access, so students can continue their exploration both before and after their scheduled activity. 

This 30-minute lab puts teams of students in control of robotic bees! Students will use basic programming to complete challenges inspired by bee behavior in the natural world.

In this exciting 30-minute lab, students become young engineers as they design and build their own wind-powered sail cars! By experimenting with wheels, masts, and sails, they’ll explore how design choices affect motion. Through testing and recording their results, students practice the engineering design process in a fun, hands-on challenge that brings physics and creativity to life.

This engaging, hands-on experience encourages teamwork, innovation, and critical thinking as students build, test, and improve their creations.

Experiment with the transformation of energy in this 30-minute lab. Students will learn about the conservation of energy and then use hand crank generators to complete challenges and track their data!
