60-Minute Labs + Full Day Exhibits Access
Bring science to life with a 60-minute immersive lab experience led by MOSAC educators. These inquiry-based sessions give students a chance to explore real-world science using authentic tools and techniques—all while building observation, investigation, and collaboration skills. Your visit includes full-day exhibit halls access, so students can continue their exploration both before and after their scheduled program.
Dig into the past with a hands-on fossil investigation! Students will explore how fossils form and what they tell us about ancient plants, animals, and Earth’s changing landscape. Using MOSAC’s fossil collection and replicas, students will analyze evidence and practice making claims about Earth’s history.

Can your team power the future? In this collaborative lab, students take on the challenge of designing an offshore renewable energy farm. Using K’nex and other building materials, they’ll engineer wind and wave energy solutions and adapt their designs to changing environmental conditions like wildlife migration and weather.

What happens when you flip a switch? Students dive into the basics of electricity, learning about atoms, electrons, and circuits through hands-on experiments. Working with real components—wires, bulbs, fans, and switches—they’ll build circuits and explore energy transformations through engaging challenges.

Zoom in on the building blocks of life! In this lab, students prepare their own slides of onion cells, compare them to other cells, and explore the differences between plant and animal cells. With microscopes in hand, they’ll practice lab techniques and build an understanding of different types of cells and their structures.
