Maker Field Trip + Full Day Exhibits Access 

Unleash your students’ creativity in MOSAC’s Design Lab! This exciting, project-based field trip invites students to explore the engineering design process through hands-on challenges using real tools and materials. From digital modeling and laser cutting to testing and iteration, students will design, build, and improve their own creations—turning STEM concepts into real-world skills. 

 Perfect for inspiring future inventors, problem-solvers, and engineers, this immersive program empowers students to take charge of their learning through innovation and teamwork in a dynamic maker environment. 

5th–8th Grade 

Step into the world of design and innovation in this immersive maker experience! Students will use CAD software to design their own wind turbine blades, and watch their designs come to life with our laser cutter. Once built, their blades will be tested to measure how much electricity each one can generate. It’s a hands-on, minds-on engineering challenge that brings together creativity, technology, and sustainability. 

This program is ideal for schools looking to deepen students’ understanding of renewable energy and design thinking through a real-world, project-based learning experience.

Group Size: Up to 32 students (broken into two sessions of up to 16 students)

  • Adult-to-student ratio: 1 adult per 5 students is required.
  • Chaperones: Up to 7 chaperones are included in the price.
  • Educators and support staff: Teachers and instructional support staff (such as paraeducators and aides) are also included in the price.
