MOSAC Announces New Health Connections Exhibition Promoting Healthy Living in the Greater Sacramento Area

SACRAMENTO – The SMUD Museum of Science and Curiosity (MOSAC) is excited to launch a new exhibition – Health Connections, Conexiones de Salud, presented by UC Davis Health. The new exhibition explores what it means to be healthy and feel well through the many connections and layers of physical, social-emotional, and community aspects of health.

MOSAC invites guests to explore this new exhibition through a variety of hands-on exhibits that tease the brain, promote self-reflection, and engage the whole body and its senses. MOSAC is excited to announce that Health Connections, Conexiones de Salud, is MOSAC’s first bilingual exhibit, offered in English and Spanish.

“We are thrilled to provide our first bilingual exhibition to expand health-related learning for the Greater Sacramento Area,” says MOSAC Executive Director, Andrea Durham. “Health is a critically important issue for our entire community, and we hope this exhibit will not just be a unique and fun experience, but also advance equity in our community.”

The new exhibition will be open to the public on June 7, 2024, and features engaging and interactive experiences for guests of all ages, backgrounds, and learning styles. MOSAC aims to increase access to STEM learning for all community members. The new bilingual exhibition is just the beginning of expanding the hands-on learning experience for all curious minds.

The official unveiling of the new exhibition took place on June 6 with opening remarks from Gary S. May, Chancellor of the University of California, Davis. “This exhibit, sponsored by UC Davis Health, speaks to an essential, shared part of the human experience,” says Chancellor May. “It narrates the story of the interconnected nature of health and well-being through the lenses of physical, social, emotional, and community health.”

“Health is important to everyone, regardless of age or language,” said Dr. David Lubarsky, CEO of UC Davis Health. “We’re proud to help promote understanding of the body, healthy ways to maintain your body, and to show some of the science that we put to work every day to keep people healthy.”

The Health Connections exhibition is one of many interactive experiences at MOSAC where people of all ages can have fun, learn, and explore the many wonders of Sacramento and beyond.
