The SMUD Museum of Science and Curiosity offers a unique setting for special events near Downtown Sacramento. Situated on the banks of the Sacramento River and overlooking Matsui Park, MOSAC is the ideal venue for any occasion.

Located on the Sacramento River with views of downtown, MOSAC offers exceptional experiences for corporate, nonprofit, and social events. The museum offers dramatic indoor and outdoor event spaces, convenient parking, Wi-Fi and AV capabilities, a 100-seat theater, two floors of interactive exhibits for all ages, and versatile spaces to host your special event in a unique setting.

Our most popular rental package – the Featured Exhibits Gallery can accommodate seated dinners for up to 200 people. The open floor plan and main stage make this space perfect for large company parties, awards banquets, and fundraising galas.

We invite you and your guests to sit back and enjoy a show in our 100-seat, 40-foot, full-dome theater equipped with six 4K projectors and Dolby Digital surround sound for a truly immersive experience. Choose from one of MOSAC’s planetarium presentations, or work with our planetarium manager to create your own presentation.

Comfortably seating up to 72 guests when combined, the Alpha and Omega classrooms are a great option for daytime conferences, workshops, or company retreats. Dual monitors and included A/V make presenting a breeze.
